Qualified & In Date Train Drivers Required

JSD Rail currently has two train driving positions available for fully qualified train drivers holding route knowledge in one or either of the areas below. The position involves the driving of Multi-Purpose Vehicles (Windhoff MPV) as part of the JSD Rail seasonal treatment team, carrying out Weed Kill and seasonal treatment on behalf of a Network Rail contract held by JSD Rail. The MPV contract is UK wide, however at this time we are seeking drivers holding route knowledge in the East Midlands or South Wales for this particular role.


  • Competent to drive MPVs or willing to learn (Full training will be given to the right candidate).
  • East Midlands Route Knowledge or South Wales (And the Valley’s) Route Knowledge.
  • Knowledge of driving standards including GE/RT8000 (Rule Book)
  • Personal Track Safety (PTS) AC/DC certificate
  • Willingness to work shifts and weekends
  • Full UK road driving license
  • Ability to use experience and initiative when on track


  • To carry out all work/duties in a safe and professional manner to Network Rail standards.
  • Work as directed to achieve all planned work.
  • Ability to remain flexible to react to unexpected situations.
  • Give comprehensive written reports should the need occur.
  • Book on and off duty with JSD Control at the start and finish of each shift, giving an end of shift report.
  • Inform JSD Control with operational updates when required.
  • Some weekend work would be required.
